There’s something deeply humbling about the way nature moves through her seasons. She doesn’t rush spring, doesn’t cling to summer, doesn’t resist autumn’s shedding, or fight against winter’s stillness. She flows instinctively, rhythmically, always trusting what comes next.
But we, as humans, often forget how to flow. We push, we strive, we stay in motion long after our souls are begging us to rest. Or we hesitate too long in comfort, afraid to re-enter the world after a season of stillness. We forget that life like nature is meant to be lived in cycles. Not in extremes, not in constant acceleration, but in balance.
Spring teaches us about new beginnings, about showing up for what calls to us. It reminds us of the energy that comes after rest, of what’s possible when we’re brave enough to begin again. Summer is a season of fullness of doing, creating, expressing. It’s where our passions come alive, where our efforts meet the sun and grow.
Then comes autumn, a gentle nudge inward. It invites us to reflect, to release, to let go of what no longer fits. Not everything that blooms is meant to last forever. And finally, winter, a season of deep stillness, rest, and restoration. It’s the quiet in which we gather strength, the pause that prepares us for what’s next.
Each season, in its own sacred way, offers us something vital. And just like the earth, we move through our own cycles — sometimes growing, sometimes pausing, sometimes grieving, sometimes blooming.
This Monday, I invite you to take a quiet moment and ask yourself: what season am I in right now? Am I moving too fast, afraid of slowing down? Or have I been resting so long that it’s time to begin again, even if gently? There is no shame in being tired. No guilt in needing stillness. No failure in slowing down. Rest is not retreat, it’s preparation. And movement is not pressure, it’s permission. Life asks us to honour both.
Think of yourself as a garden. You cannot expect to flower without also tending to your soil. You cannot keep blooming without pausing to breathe, to be. Growth is not only measured in what you do, but also in what you learn while you wait.
So this week, may you tune into your season without judgment, without comparison. May you give yourself what you need: rest if you’re weary, courage if you’re ready, and grace always. Because balance is not about getting everything right. It’s about listening. And trusting. And learning to move with life, not against it.
