Happy New Year’s Eve! Can you believe it’s the LAST day of 2021? I’m kind of in denial about the whole thing to be honest with you. This past year was definitely the fastest year of my life and I don’t know how it’s a new year in the next couple of hours. But I woke up at 6AM this morning to sit down in the peace and quiet and spend a little time reflecting on the year. For me, 2021 is a year of some really amazing moments and also some really challenging moments. Grab some snacks and let’s chat about it all!

There’s something about the impending new year that always prompts me to reflect on everything that’s happened in the last twelve months. I feel that 2021 feels more like a roller coaster ride for me and I’m happy that at the end of the year, I, my family, and friends are still healthy and alive. That’s call for champagne doesn’t it?🥰

This year I spent more time with family and friends, ran my first ever filter which had over 10K use all over the world, read lots of books, and focused more on what matters most to me in life. I’m definitely going to keep that trend going in 2022!
This year I gave myself the freedom to share more of what I love here on the blog, which I gotta say has been SO MUCH FUN. I’ve been blogging now for 6months (this all started in July 13th this year) and in a lot of ways DETAILS has evolved with me over that time.

I went from only sharing fashion ideas and to now sharing a little bit of everything– from fashion, football to growth tips, recipes, even music and skincare. I feel like I did a pretty good mix of it all in 2021. . I loved mixing it up and trying new things. I decided to just have fun with it and I’m sooooo grateful to all of you for sticking with me!

I also had some pretty incredible moments, like that time I ran the fashion series— 30 FASHION CODES IN 30 DAYS back in November, which was so much fun! And then a few weeks later I had the honour of creating DETAILS space on Instagram as well as creating RANDOM QUESTIONS FILTER and 30 FASHION CODES FILTER. I still can’t believe it!
It was such blessing and I’ll remember it forever. And if you followed through with the series THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.

The biggest benefit that DETAILS has brought me is the chance to practice new writing techiques, creating contents, programming, time management, and been more near to you all.
Also, my convocation from Obafemi Awolowo University happened this year. I’m super grateful to God. The Law School came calling as well.

LESSONS LEARNT
Life is How You See It
2021 helped me remember something that I already know before. Life is how you see it. Life can be easy if you choose to see the good things in it. It can be horrible if you always dwell on the negative aspect of our lives. As they always say, there are two sides to a coin. And life is just like that. The good and bad sides both exist in the same situation.
As a human, the only specie on the planet that is known to have the power to change everything with the power of our mind and our will, we have the power to steer our lives. We can either go left or right. We can speed up or slow down. We can indulge in drama or focus on building solutions.
Situations happen all the time. It’s up to us whether to judge the situation as good or bad for ourselves.
Life is Short
Life is short to dwell on things that do not bring joy and value to your life. Enjoy and celebrate the present moment because it’s all that we’ve got.
Always Celebrate Life
There’s always hope while you’re still alive. Maybe this is one of the guiding forces behind my determination to go for what I want in my life.
I know and I truly believe that there’s always hope as long as I’m alive. There’s always a chance to improve my well-being as long as I’m alive. There’s always time to recuperate from all the material losses as long as you’re alive.
That’s why I’d like to live my life as a celebration.
There’s a reason why I’m an able-bodied person.
There’s a reason why I can read and write.
There’s a reason why I’m wonderfully made.
There’s a reason why I’m adorned after the similitude of the palace.
There’s a reason why I can create.
There’s a reason why I can adapt and learn quickly.
There’s a reason why I’m a torch.
There’s a reason why I am who I am.
And I’d like to celebrate having all of those things in my life by trying my best to always become the better version of myself. The universe for some weird raffle draw or coincidence gave me the faculty and the tools to live a good life and I will not waste this chance by living a mediocre life.

Continuous Improvement
Regardless of what we do in life, continuous improvement is the key to staying ahead.
It doesn’t matter if it’s about a career or if it’s about entrepreneurship, the fundamentals of the game are the same.

Savings is Important
I realized, that if I have bigger emergency funds, then I would have been able to cover my bills for a longer period of time. Thus I’m making this one of my priorities for 2022.
Sure, it will not be able to cover everything, but at least it can buy us some time to recover from the unexpected financial issues.
The Love of God is Steadfast
Can anyone even comprehend the steadfast love of God or perhaps his unflinching love for us all? Sorry to shock you, but no one can.
The gist here guys is to trust God concerning those plans, goals, dreams, Mr Right, Miss Right, the dream job, healthy living. Afterall he is Mr Talk and Do and he loves us so much! This year created room for the emphasis of this fact and I believe 2022 will not be an exception.
This year was definitely a year of personal growth for me and I feel like God challenged me in a lot of ways in 2021. I didn’t always share those challenges here with all of you, but I’m happy to say that I learned a lot about myself. Probably more than any other year of my life. And this year, I truly embraced who I am–flaws and all. I stopped caring so much about what other people think and I just let myself be me. In that process I learned that I’m actually stronger than I realized. I also learned that perspective is everything. What you think of yourself and your life will determine your own happiness, so you might as well focus on the positive, right?! RIGHT.

I want to thank each and every one of you for supporting me in 2021. God has truly blessed me with this space and I thank Him every single day for all of you. He’s been the one guiding my path all along and I will always give Him the glory because let’s face it–most of the time he handles the wheel!
Here’s to a new year full of love, happiness and peace! xoxo
