Monday Memo| Detail No.142| February 17, 2025

Love is effortless when life is light. When laughter fills the air, when conversations flow without hesitation, when simply being together feels natural. But love that lasts—the kind that weathers every storm—shows up even when it’s inconvenient, even when it's exhausting, even when it hurts.

Think about the relationships in your life that have stood strong through the years. The friendships that didn’t waver when life got messy. The family members who forgave without tallying past mistakes. The mentors who saw potential in you, even when you struggled to see it in yourself.

We often think love fades because of dramatic betrayals or sudden departures. But in reality, love often erodes in quiet, unnoticeable ways. Through the messages we forget to send. Through the plans we keep postponing. Through the belief that there will always be more time, until one day, there isn’t.

Love requires effort, and not just in the grand gestures. It’s in the daily check-ins, the unexpected kindness, the willingness to stay even when leaving would be easier. Relationships don’t survive on memories alone—they need to be nurtured, fed, and protected.

This week, let’s be intentional. Let’s send the message we’ve been meaning to send. Let’s call that friend we haven’t heard from in a while. Let’s show up, not just in words, but in action. If something is broken and can be repaired, let’s take the first step. If something is still growing, let’s nurture it with care.

Because love that stands the test of time isn’t about perfect moments—it’s about choosing, again and again, to hold on. To keep showing up. To fight for what matters.

And in the end, the relationships that last are the ones we choose to honor, to protect, and to cherish.
