As October winds down, we stand on the edge of the month, gazing forward into the horizon of what comes next. Isn't it strange? This time of year, the world is alive with transitions. Trees shed their leaves, and days grow shorter. October has been a beautiful blend of change, but as the month nears its end, I can’t help but think about how it’s preparing us to step forward into what awaits us.
The idea of a horizon feels almost poetic, doesn’t it? It’s a distant line, always there, marking the edge of what we know and the beginning of what we don’t. No matter how far we walk or how fast we run, the horizon remains just beyond reach. And that’s the magic of it—our personal and professional lives, too, are full of these horizons: places we’re aiming for, dreams we’re inching toward, and goals we’re hoping to achieve.
Standing on the edge of the unknown is as thrilling as it is unnerving. It's where possibility lives, and possibilities can both excite and scare us. When we look out over that line, we might see the potential for growth, the hope of finding something meaningful, or perhaps the need to let go of what no longer serves us. October’s horizon might be reminding us of all the paths that have led us here, while gently nudging us to take that next step.
Maybe this week is about setting the tone for November. Maybe it’s about tying up loose ends from October. Maybe it’s about dreaming even bigger than before. Whatever it is, the horizon is there waiting for you.
In some ways, each of us stands at our unique horizon. What waits for me on the other side might not look the same as what’s waiting for you. And that’s okay; our journeys are as unique as our dreams. So, this last Monday of October, let's each take a moment to breathe in the beauty of the journey so far and open ourselves to whatever awaits on the other side.
This Monday, and every Monday. What will you do with it? What new challenges are you ready to face? What goals are you setting for yourself? The end of October doesn’t mark the end of your journey—it’s just another step in your evolution. The horizon is always ahead, urging you to dream bigger, to think more creatively, to push past your current limits.
This week, I encourage you to think about the future, but also to embrace the present moment. What can you do today to set the tone for the rest of the year? How can you take the lessons you’ve learned in October and apply them moving forward? The possibilities are endless.
See you all in November.
